Which New Players Should You Watch This Year?

UK clubs have made some interesting new acquisitions this summer. Among the transfers are some stand-outs who promise to make the coming football season an exciting one. Grande Vegas online casino fans and other football enthusiasts can look forward to watching the new recruits’ development at AFC Bournemouth, Sheffield United, Manchester United, Everton, Brighton and Hove Albion and Watford.

Emerson Hyndman Joins AFC

Atlanta United has signed Emerson Hyndman, a midfielder who is on loan from Bournemouth. Hyndman was officially added to the club’s roster when the Secondary Transfer Window opened on July 9. According to the deal, when the loan expires at the end of the 2019 season, Atlanta will be able to purchase the player.

Atlanta sent FC Dallas $200,000 in General Allocation Money in order to acquire Hyndman’s Discovery Rights. They also gave FC Dallas an international roster spot for the 2019 and 2020 seasons.

Atlanta Vice President and Technical Director Carlos Bocanegra said in a team statement, “We’re excited to bring a talented young player like Emerson in to bolster our midfield. In addition to his technical, on-the-ball abilities, he performed well in two physically-demanding leagues in the Scottish Premiership and English Championship.”

Hyndman is a Dallas native. He has spent his professional playing career in Europe including his high school education at the Fulham youth academy which he entered in 2011 at the age of 15. Hyndman worked his way through the Fulham youth ranks. In August 2014 he made his professional debut for the club in the English Championship. Subsequently, Hyndman signed with AFC Bournemouth on a free transfer.

Hyndman has played for the Rangers in the Scottish Premiership where he made 13 appearances and scored four goals. The team selected him as Young Player of the Year for the 2016-17 season. After his stint with the Rangers, Hyndman returned to the Scottish Premiership where Hyndman joined Hibernian on loan. His 19 appearances for the club included 15 in the Premiership, two in Europa League qualifying and two in League Cup.

Hyndman has represented his native USA from the U-17 level to the senior National Team. In the 2015 FIFA U-20 World Cup, Hyndman captained the United States Under-20 National Team. He played in all five matches and scored two goals in group play.

Watford Welcomes Bayli Spencer-Adams

Bayli Spencer-Adams has finally established himself as a regular for Arsenal U18s. Spencer-Adams, who hails from the Arsenal Gunners’ Hale End academy, has become the heart of the defense and scored a brace in the 4-0 victory over Fulham in the Premier League Cup.

Spencer-Adams has been playing with greater authority at the back as he strives to earn a place on the team. Even though he’s only 17, his physical strength and leadership qualities have made him one of the players in which the team management is prepared to invest. Many observers see his partnership with James McGuinness for the U18s as a plus for the team, though management may decide that only one of the centre-backs will be retained.

McGuinness may have a better chance of succeeding at a higher level but everyone remembers Danny Ballard and Zach Medley who struggled in the U18s but have proven themselves in the U23 setup. Things will become clearer when Arsenal gets their FA Youth Cup campaign underway. That will give Spencer-Adams an opportunity to impress as he strives to earn a new deal.

Callum Robinson Arrives at Sheffield United

Newly-promoted Sheffield United have signed Callum Robinson from Preston North End. Robinson has joined on a four-year deal for an undisclosed fee. The 24-year-old Republic of Ireland international forward began his career at Aston Villa and made his Premier League debut for the club in 2014.

After loan spells at Preston and Bristol City he joined the Lancashire side on a full-time basis where he’s scored 31 goal. Last year he made his international debut against Wales in the Nations League in 2018.

Brighton and Hove Albion Brings Leandro Trossard on Board

Brighton and Hove Albion’s newest signing, Leandro Trossard, scored his first goal in his first game for the team. The 24-year-old left-winger scored in the eventful victory in Austria as soon as he was brought on in the second half against FC Liefering at the Sportzplatz Bischofshofen in Austria.

Trossard, is a product of the Genk youth academy. He spent time on loan at several Belgian clubs before he broke into the first team in 2016. He enjoyed his top season in 2018/19 when he finished with 33 combined goals and assists and emerged as captain.

Shayne Lavery Arrives at Everton

Shayne Lavery, the Under-21 NI striker, has made switch to Linfield on a one-year contract. Lavery, who has one senior international cap, will join the Blues before the launch of their Champions League qualifying campaign.

“I’m very enthusiastic about young Shayne joining us,” said Linfield boss David Healy. “I’ve known him for some time and I know what an exciting and promising talent he is. He’s played at various underage international levels and made his senior international debut exactly a year ago. He will certainly increase the competition levels within our squad and I’m really looking forward to working with him again, when he joins us for our Uefa Champions League preparations.”

Lavery responded “I’m absolutely delighted to have got this deal agreed to sign for Linfield. I know the manager and Ross (Oliver, assistant manager) very well and they have made me feel welcome and wanted. I just can’t wait to get started once I return here from international duty. I have been impressed with the overall set up at the club and all the manager’s plans for the club, going forward. I also know Joel Cooper well and this really does feel like the right move for me at this stage of my career.”

Man United Gains Right-Back in Aaron Wan-Bissaka

Upon signing, Aaron Wan-Bissaka flew to Perth to join his new teammates at Manchester United. That willingness to forgo a 3-week vacation and go the extra step, rather than join the tour at the midway point in Singapore, impressed Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, his staff and Manchester fans. Solskjaer is hoping that Wan-Bissaka can propel the club to new heights after a disappointing six years following Sir Alex Ferguson’s retirement.

Wan-Bissaka is setting the tone that Solskjaer wants from his team. “I want to be pushed to reach my potential… Manchester United is the best place for that,” said Wan-Bissaka after the signing.

At age 11 Wan-Bissaka joined the Crystal Palace Academy. From the academy he signed a professional contract with Crystal Palace where his defensive capabilities flourished. Although Wan-Bissaka began his career as a wing-back he has how evolved into position as a full-back. In 2018 he won the club’s Player of the Month Award twice, in March and then again in August. In April 2019 Wan Bissaka was presented with Crystal Palace’s Player of the Year Award.
