Learn The Spectacular Riquelme Move

The Riquelme move is pretty impressive and you will not see it often in soccer. I have never seen anyone else performing it (at least not in professional soccer).

In this guideicle you will learn how to perform the same move. However, you should avoid using it in important games especially if the result is 0-0.

You will just make your coach angry and your teammates will criticize you for playing too difficult.

There is also a risk that your opponents will perform a fast counter attack which could lead to a goal.

As with every soccer move you should first try it out on a practice a few times before performing it in a real game.

However, if you can’t get around your teammates during your practice, then you should not either try it out in a real soccer game.

How to Perform The Move

1. Drive the ball forward and lift up your head to see where your opponent is.

2. Approach at your opponent slowly by having the ball close to your.

3. Keep an eye on his/her feet.

4. As your approach your opponent pull the ball with your sole 90 degrees at the left (if you are right footed and vice versa if you are left footed).

5. After that, pull the ball directly again 90 degrees.

6. Now, use your heel to touch the ball just enough to get it between the legs of your opponents.

7. Accelerate from your opponent and gain control on the ball again.

Tips

  • Keep your body relaxed and don’t rush to fast at your opponent because he/she may steal the ball from you.
  • Stay focused.
  • Don’t perform any body movement to early that may reveal what you aim to do.
  • Keep in mind that this is a difficult soccer move and it will take some time before you manage to perform it successfully.
  • Don’t get discourage just because it didn’t work out, practice on it more and then try it out in next game.
  • Do not be afraid of failure because failure is the key to success.

Summary

This move requires great soccer skills in order to be successfully performed. However, you should not let that stop.

Remember, in soccer, you need to fail before you can succeed! In other words, you must try to play without fear no matter what!
